PRESS RELEASE
MA Ballot Questions - Tom's Votes
1. YES — Governor and legislature subject to public records law.
2. YES — Employees of the committee for public council services may form a union.
3. NO — No change in the law governing primaries.
4. YES — Yes, allow citizens to register to vote on election day.
5. NO — If this past cities and towns would have to raise property taxes and layoff teachers and public safety workers. It’s a threat to the Massachusetts bond rating and will raise the cost of repairing bridges and schools.
6. YES—To protect natural resources—wildlife, land, and water—without raising taxes.
7. YES — To allow single-family homes to be built on lots of 5000 ft.² or more. All lots would need to have access to public sewer and public water. Towns will still be allowed to impose, reasonable regulations on certain parts of these homes.
8. NO — No change to legal recreational marijuana.
9. YES— Supported by the MA Chiefs of Police, keeps our common sense gun law in place, banning ghost guns, machine guns and assault weapons, keeping firearms out of schools and other public places, and improving red flag laws to keep people safe.
